Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy

What is MAT Therapy and how can it help you

Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy (MAT)

Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy looks at the body as a whole, not just where the symptoms present themselves. With proper evaluation we have a better understanding of how to treat and correct the cause of the pain pattern. Resetting your pain patterns reduces inflammation in the joints, strengthens weak muscles and stretching tight muscles, all while retraining the neurological patterns.

MAT therapy brings together the most advanced therapeutic strategies to relieve and ultimately correct the patterns that lead to pain.

It looks for missing fascia layers such as joint capsules, intervertebral discs and pain generators. This allows us to retrain those neuro patterns to go back to where they belong.

I have been drawn to massage for as long as I can remember. Due to a spinal disease, my mother suffered chronic pain for many years. Watching failed surgeries and drug dependency hurt her more, I tried my "magic" to alleviate the pain.

It took a while for life to direct me to Irene's Myomassology Institute, but once it did, I knew I would practice massage for the rest of my life. I do what I love and love what I do. I truly believe my clients are brought to me for a reason. The bigger the challenge the better! I was given a gift and feel blessed to share it with my clients. I am a physical, mental, and spiritual tool for people who suffer from many aliments that accompany chronic pain.

I will utilize multiple modalities to help us reach your goals. Such as myofascial release, trigger points, deep tissue, positional release, and many more. The more a client can "let go" the more "I feel" therefore, a better session ensues.

In my spare time, I enjoy nature, hiking with my dog, mountain climbing, outdoor adventures, camping, basically fun, adventure and spontaneity. Photography and writing poetry are my hobbies. I have poems published in the International Library of Poetry, earning an editor's choice award. I will do my best to make you laugh because it is the best medicine. My only goal is for you to feel better and help facilitate the change you are looking for.

Elyse is an enthused body worker who has taken the careful time to craft her techniques at Irene's Myomassology institute in Southfield. Her high energy, physical and emotional standing, translates on and off the table. She enjoys incorporating a blend of the many modalities into her work.

Such as Thai, Deep tissue, Craniosacral, Myofascial, and Trigger Point therapy. Reflexology, Reiki, as well as energy balancing are the backbone for  her more physical techniques. The body has infinite layers and understandings, so learning to touch more than the surface is important to her and her clients.

Having taken classes in Aromatherapy, Hot Rocks, and Herbology comes an understanding of the tools used to enhance many kinds of body work. With a wide range of modalities,  love and healing light to give- Elyse is ready to help clients relax, relieve, and heal.

I have been practicing massage therapy for seven years, and I love that I can help my client's relieve pain, recover from injuries, reduce stress, and encourage the body's natural healing process. It has been a joy to help my longtime clients improve their quality of life.

I am a graduate of the Trident Tech Massage Therapy program and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. I always wanted a career where I could be active and help people, so massage therapy was the perfect fit for me. I'm grateful I found this profession.

I am most proficient with deep tissue and trigger point massage, but I like to incorporate many other modalities such as myofascial therapy, sports massage, relaxation, stretching, muscle mechanics and reflexology. I also like using hot stones and cupping therapy whenever I can.  I always love learning more techniques and modalities. I try to tailor each session to the clients needs.

In my free time I love sculpting, hiking, playing board games, and watching movies.

Hi! My name is Blake Redmond. I've been a licensed Massage Therapist for just over half a decade. Before working at Greenleaf, I was the Lead Massage Therapist at Grand Hotel for two consecutive seasons before returning back home to the city of Detroit. I really enjoy massage. It is astonishing how the human body can be manipulated in such a way to promote healing results, whether it be relaxation, pain management, stress management, postural benefits, or just relief.

I specialize in Relaxation, Deep Tissue, and Sports Massage. With each session I do include techniques from other modalities, such as Trigger-Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Joint Mobilization, to promote a more significant experience.

I'm a strong individual, yet my hands can be gentle for those who prefer the lighter touch. I have a welcoming personality. I love to spend time with my family and friends. And most importantly, I believe in making sure everyone feels comfortable and safe.

Life is like a camera… Focus on what's important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot!
